Fish
Story
My
buddy Richie and I
were at the lake
We were fishing for bass
with our favorite bait.
Richie waded out as
far as he dare up to his chest
he had no fear I swear.
His Rod flexed many times out there
but the lure came up empty...
Now, He's close to despair.
On his last cast and way
to the right of his bait
I saw a swimming rattle snake!
About the same time,
Richie saw it too
his eyes were big, and probably the snakes were too!
Richie turned and ran for the bank
but he slipped and fell
and there he sank.
The snake, scared at the commotion
turned and swam away
like a ship on the ocean.
When Richie finally reached the bank
and he looked up at me
with a little ache.
I was laughing so hard,
tears flowed from my eyes,
thinking over and over of his surprise.
There he sat, hair plastered to his head starting to
smile
Wishing he'd stayed in bed.
