I Stand Alone

Alas my love ~ Where have you gone
I stand here in the dark ~ I'm all alone
As I think of you ~ I begin to weep
The tears roll down my cheeks ~ 

My love I cannot sleep
For I am all alone tonight
I fear ~ for something's not quite right

I wonder My Love where you are
As I gaze upon the stars

Hold onto my love ~ where-ever you are
I'm afraid ~ Such pain & anguish come with wars

Days are filled with sadness now my love
With all our soldiers on the move

Off to fight for our people and our land
Families torn apart ~ our Soldiers off to many a foreign land


Many tears will be shed
Many a bride ~ not to be wed
I'm all alone tonight
My love's gone off ~ there's war to fight

Sad ~ Soldiers off to war to keep us safe
Loss of lives to remove ~ terror from our life

I pray now to my God above
May the angels keep you safe my Love

And quickly bring you home
Until then my Love~ I'm all alone
